Saddened by National Geographic Adventure’s Closing

I was just made aware of National Geographic Adventure’s closing via aphotoeditor.  While I’m continually saddened by the barrage of magazine closings, this one hit particularly close too home.  I had just wrapped an assignment the day before Thanksgiving for an incredibly well written and conceived article that we see far too little of these days.  Anyhow I’ve had the good fortune to have worked with photo editors Sabine Meyer and Caroline Hirsch on multiple occasions and couldn’t have been more grateful to have had the opportunity.  Both are simply amazing at what they do.  It’s a sad day indeed when such talented people and quality publications are let go.  I expected titles to fail of low caliber but with first Gourmet, and now Adventure it seems to have gotten only worse.
