Dan Saelinger hails from a town of about 50 people in central Pennsylvania. His father Dan Sr. liked to hunt – Dan Jr. did not. Instead he preferred video games, 80’s television and art class. Dan received his first camera at 15, and decided he would very much like to take pictures for magazines.
Dan works out of a studio in New York City taking photographs for numerous clients. He prides himself on being a problem solver and an all-around nice guy. He shoots digitally using a Phase One digital back and his prized red Hasselblad.
Dan holds an MFA in photography from The Savannah College of Art and Design and teaches at the Maine Photographic Workshops and The School of Visual Arts when he’s not shooting commercially. His work has been recognized by American Photography, Photo District News, and The Society of Publication Designers.
